This class will study the basics of swing dance and is for the person
who is being exposed to Swing for
the first time or is a swing
dancer who would like to review the basics. The syllabus listed here will
be followed:
Beginning West Coast Swing
1.) Closed Basic
2.) Send-out or Throw-out
3.) Walk-in
4.) Sugar Push
5.) Underarm Pass or Walk-through
6.) Side Pass or Pass-by
7.) Tuck Turns
a. Open Position with Double Hand Hold
b. Closed Position with and without two hand hold
c. Sugar Push
8.) Hammer Lock
a. Double hand hold
b. Man's Headloop
c. Man's Left Underarm
9.) Rotating Basic
10.) Rotating Return

Level II
West Coast Swing
Mondays
7:00-8:00
Once the beginning class is accomplished you may enter the intermediate class.
Permission of teacher required. This is an on-going class that changes
each month. The intermediate classes can be entered on any month.
Intermediate West Coast Swing
To accomplish the intemediate degree, successful completion of three
months of Intermediate/Advanced classes is required which include both
six count and eight count classes.
Advanced West Coast Swing
To accomplish the advanced degree, successful completion of six
months of the Intermediate/
Advanced classes is required which include:
6 Count Variations,
8 Count Variations,
Syncopations,
Whips,
Smooth Moves,
Swing-outs & Circles
Hot Breaks & Rhythm Variations.
